Grand Casino Gulfport Quick ReviewPlease note: This review is pre-Katrina. We will have information and photos of the new Island View Resort soon. The Grand is enourmous and has an extensive lineup of amenities and services to appeal to the widest possible audience. But still retains its friendly, southern charm. Families will love the tropical waterpark, Kids Quest, teen arcade, and easy beach access. Everyone will love the selection of casual dining spots and top notch accomodations.

Grand Casino Gulfport Location Grand Casino is on the beach in Gulfport. It is the closest casino resort to the airport (head south on US-49, then hand a right onto Beach Blvd, the resort is straight ahead). The Copa Casino and Port of Gulfport are nearby. Biloxi and its casinos is 15-20 miles east on US-90 (Beach Blvd). | Grand Casino Gulfport Property Layout The Grands of Mississippi are large resorts chock full of amenities and services to make your visit a complete resort experience. The Grand Gulfport occupies both sides of Beach Blvd. The Oasis Spa and Resort, with its 3 acre tropical pool area, hotel, spa, lounge, and parking lot sit on the north side of the street. On the beach side, is the casino, parking garage, and the Grand Casino Hotel complete with indoor swimming pool, Kids Quest, shops, and eateries. An enclosed walkway is provided for easy travel over Beach Blvd.

Lazy River Swimming Pool at Grand Casino Gulfport Resort | | . | Grand Casino Gulfport Hotels Grand Casino Gulfport has two luxurious hotels with a total of 1000 rooms and suites. The Grand Casino Hotel is adjacent to the casino on the Gulf side of Beach Blvd. The tower has 400 rooms with magnificent views of the beach and the water. The Grand Hotel provides convenient access to the casino, an indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, and several shops and a restaurant in it lobby. The newer, 600 room, Oasis Spa and Resort is located across the street from the casino. While this might seem like an inconvenience for the diehard gambler, it really is not thanks to an over-street enclosed walkway, and we prefer this hotel for its outstanding amenities (as will be discuss below). The Oasis Resort and Spa is aptly named: it houses the Bellissimo Spa as well as the Grand's lush, oasis-like, three acre tropical pool area. The tropical outdoor attraction includes a large swimming pool, kiddie pool with waterfall, cabana bar, plenty of lounge chairs, and a winding lazy river, which you can float along on an inner tube. Inside, there is an extensive lobby area with comfortable seating with views of the pool, a TJ Cinnamons bakery, a bar, gift shop, and game room.

| We stayed at the Oasis Spa and Resort and could not have been happier with the accomodations. The views are not as spectacular as at the tower hotel, but that was more than made up for by the other amenities (as discussed above). The like-new room was very comfortable and included a fridge, coffeemaker, ironing equipment, hair dryer, cable television with pay per view movies and games, and other niceties (see pictures). When you are ready to leave the spa-like atmosphere of the Oasis (to play or eat), your walk over to the casino is enjoyable as you pass over the street, and through the Grand Hotel's lobby past the shops and lounges, and then thrust into the exciting gaming environment.

The three acre area includes an olympic sized swimming pool, wading pool, lounge chairs, tropical foliage and waterfalls, a cabana bar, and a lazy river for inner-tubing. The Grand Casino Hotel features an indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi. Bellisimo Spa and Salon, located in the Oasis Hotel, has fitness equipment; a salon offering facials, manicures, pedicures; and the spa for massage, body wraps, mud wraps, steam room, immersion tubs, sauna. Grand Bear Golf Course is a highly rated, 18-hole, Jack Nicklaus signature course. Golf packages including hotel room, greens fees, food vouchers, and other goodies are available thru the resort. | Dining at Grand Casino Gulfport Grand Casino Gulfport aims to please all tastes with a staggering ten restaurants including the all-you-can-eat buffet. Cabana Cafe is out by the pool at the Oasis Spa and Resort. They serve up tropical drinks, cocktails, soft drinks, and light lunch fare. Java Grande and T.J. Cinnamons is located in the lobby of the Oasis Hotel and Spa. They serve such breakfast favorites as fresh coffee, cinnamon buns, fresh baked bread and other bakery items, pplus salads, soups, and sandwiches.

Java Coast & Java Grande serve hot espresso beverages as well as pastries and desserts. L.B.'s Steakhouse is on the casino third level. LB's is the Grand's steak and seafood house (also featuring rotisserie chicken). Entrees generally run from $20 to $35. Market Place Buffet on the upper casino level features food selections from around the world including Mexican, Italian, Asian, Cajun, Creole, and American specialties. Seafood is served nightly (shrimp, crab legs, crawgish). Breakfast includes made-to-order omelets. New Orleans Bistro offers casual dining including Cajun specialties with a nice view of the beach. Fare includes Po Boy sandwiches (about $8), stews, pan roasts, gumbo, jambalaya, muffalettas, a raw bar, salads, and more (most everything is under $10). Nifty 50's, located on the casino second floor near the buffet, serves fast-food fare such as hot dogs, burgers ($6), fountain drinks, pizza, sandwiches, and soft-serve yogurt. Snapper Jack's, open 24 hours and located on the second floor, is a casual seafood house and oyster bar. Fare includes shrimp, catfish, burgers, po boys (about $7), seafood platters (most dishes run around $10). Sake Tuya Sushi Bar is also located inside Snapper Jacks. Vrazel's,an independently owned restaurant located next to the Oasis Resort and Spa, serves fine Italian, French, and Cajun cuisine in an elegant setting.
